The Chief of General Staff participates in NATO`s Military Committee-s Conference

The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, participates in NATO Military Committee`s Conference, at the level of Chiefs of Defence, from 13-15 September, in Budapest.

The meeting will be focused on NATO transformation, ISAF Operation, Resolute Support Mission conducted in Afghanistan and the strategic approach of the security environment.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila will reiterate the need for an aniticipated planning of collective defence and the importance of a contingency plan for Romania.

At the same time, the Romanian Armed Forces will continuously support the Connected Forces Initiative, as a solution for maintaining NATO forces` level of interoperability. Consequently, the forces planned to participate in the NATO Response Force will be trained at national level in accordance with NATO requirements.

The Chief of General Staff will advocate that Smart Defence multinational approach must bring reciprocal advantages, the contribution of the states in common projects being conditioned by the economic implications and the technological transfer.
